UH-Hilo’s volleyball players Bria Beale, Ashton Jessee, and Alexandria Parisian hit it big on Oahu on Sunday.

Perhaps one squad scored even bigger: the Vulcans women’s soccer team.

UHH didn’t just find the back of the net, it found it in bunches, beating Hawaii Pacific 4-0 behind Daeleen Tokunaga’s two goals at Waipahu Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

Filippa Graneld and Nanea Wall also scored for the Vulcans (2-2).

The Vulcans outshot the Sharks (1-2) 20-4. UHH was held to two goals over its first three matches, but Tokunaga now has three on the season, and Graneld has two.

UHH next plays Chaminade (1-1) on Thursday at the Saint Louis field on Oahu.

As for the volleyball match at McCabe Gym, UHH swept Montana State Billings 25-20, 25-19, 25-14 to finish the three-day tourney with a 3-1 record.

The senior trio of Beale (14 kills), Jessee (11 kills) and Parisian (10 kills) led the way for the Vulcans, who hit .312 and outdug the Yellowjackets 64-42.

Tani Hoke had 16 digs, setter Kendall Kott added 12 digs, Beale had 11 for a double-double, and Parisian had 10 for a double-double.

UHH next plays Chaminade (4-0) on Saturday at McCabe Gym, followed by Hawaii Pacific (1-7) on Sunday at The Shark Tank.

In golf, UH-Hilo’s Keith Ing fired a 1-over 73 in the first round of the Hawaii Pacific Shootout at Pearl Country Club to trail HPU’s Keith Okada, who shot a par 72.

UHH’s Nick Gomez is tied for fifth after a 4-over 76, while Dustin Franko, Ethan Hironaga, and Junghwan Lee are tied for 13th after a 9-over 81.
